I'm just curious if anyone knows much about deer fibroma. A buddy of mine took a deer last season and it was just covered in those nasty tumors. Is it safe to handle the carcass? Obviously not for meat but like taking the head for a trophy? Does it spread between deer easily? Hopefully I won't have to deal with it myself but I'm curious..

Thanks for any info

Do a Google search for "deer fibroma." Links to several studies about "deer fibroma" will appear. Read a few and then decide what you want to do.

There was one down in Springfield got caught in some peoples wrought iron this year. Ugly looking I read some articles on it at the time that indicated while not common it's out there.

One of my cows had "warts" and the vet treated them. I have seen deer with the same. I generally let them walk. I have read they are no consequence to humans.
