Has anyone tried Doug Turnbull or any other case-hardener? I believe it was in the latest Handloader magazine that the price to do the frame & hammer of a SAA was around 100 bucks. The SAA I acquired is in excellent condition, but the case-hardening colors are all gone. Since I'm going to keep it, I'd like to spiff it up a little if I see enough positive remarks about the process.

I will NOT buff it or mess with the bluing!! SW

I have a friend who had his Marlin recased by Turnbull, and his work is as good as original. Can't quote his price for a Colt SAA frame, but the Marlin frame was much more than that. But again, how do you put a price on perfection? He's the best.
