G'day all,

Due to buy new powder for 45Colt coated 250gr RNFP plinker loads.

Unsure of choice between powder equivalents Hodgdon Universal & Alliant Unique. Cost for quantity here in Oz, Universal comes out on top being locally produced, 500grams tub=7700grains compared to Unique US1lb tub=7000grains and more expensive. As I haven't tried Unique the choice finally comes down to which is cleaner burning :?:

Thanks

Thanks imashooter2

Another reason for my inquiry is that, I see in the new Alliant Powder advertisements they state it's "now 60% cleaner". Are you relating to the current or older Unique powder? The old must have been bloody dirty! :?

unique is an old old powder... it's pretty smoky, you can clean it up some by getting a good crimp and using a magnum primer tho...

My experience is that the new "cleaner" Alliant powders aren't.

 at dirty Unique!

Looks like ADI Powder AP70N = Universal is the way to go.
