Can any of you guys in Central Florida recommend a good general gunsmith to work on leverguns and single action revolvers? There is only one in Pinellas county, they have had 2 of my Colts for over 7 mos., and haven't even started on them yet!

With this kind of backlog, I'm thinkin' maybe I should fulfill that lifelong dream of going to gunsmith school!

Dave, sounds like a good time to get a couple of books and some good tools.

There has to be something out on the net you can download and at least make an attempt.

I could understand it if the smith is a specialist on Colts to have a backlog, one person can only do just so much.

SF, just now found this post. Unfortunately there is only one decent gun shop in central Florida with a fulltime smith department (with full capabilities) that I'm aware of. If you have a skill you could probably make a fortune. With the amount of new gun owners and mistakes made every day you could clean up from what I've seen.

Addison's Gun Shop in Kissimmee has a nice repair shop in-store. Great place although their website appears to not be up-to-date. ::)

I've only been in it a few times, nice selection of ammo, guns and "stuff" with a large gunsmith shop. Problem for me is that they don't sell ANY reloading equipment.

Ship it out of state. They don't have to collect tax. You can ship your own firearm without a FFL to a Smith or manufacturer for repairs of modification.

Hey David, still makin' bullets? Remember me? Maybe not, I sent several emails requesting more of your 250gr for my 375. I did not sened M.O. I figured you'd email me and give me a time frame. If the kids let you slow down enough, I'd still go for at least 50.
Thanks, Tony [email protected]
