Yeah I know this has been done to death but the mags I bought for my nine won't freaking fit. I have a 5904 S&W and the mags I got with the gun plus 2 more I bought at the gun show this weekend won't lock up in my camp nine. I got 1 factory mag and a Mecgar with the 5904 and 2 S&W mags for $30.00 at the local gun show. They all fit and function fine in the pistol but it's no go in the camp. Anyone got any ideas.

Ok problem found and some what solved it. It seems even the factory mag was a bit harder to install than I thought it should be. After takeing the firearm down as far I was comfortable with at this time a burr on the mag disconnector was the culprit. I beveled the back side of the mag with a file and the mags all now work great in both fiearms. when time and skills allow I will take the trigger group down and fix the mag disconnect properly.

The Mag Disconnector is IMHO, more of a problem on the Camp 45. Attempting to insert the "U" topped magazine instead of the "square" top magazine can cut into the Disconnector and mark it with a burr that can stop all other magazines from getting past the burr. I had to file down the burr to get the magazine to go in.

I would also try inserting the mag with the bolt open. Sometimes the mag spring will stop on the closed bolt and is too firm to allow the mag to seat in the well. Attempting to insert with the bolt open will take the mag spring pressure out of the equation.

IMHO whoever designed the Mag Disconnector shoud be face slapped and asked "What were you thinking"?
