OK- thanks for being patient for all who PM'd me from my thread in the "336" section of the forum, I'm listing it! Up for grabs is the Marlin C30as, with "Realtree" FACTORY CAMO finish. This rifle is new in the box, unfired,and unaltered. It comes with the trigger spur, manual, and the original box, serialized to the rifle. There has been a lot of discussion as to whether this model was a factory special order, or a very, very limited, uncataloged offering. Either way, most collectors and Marlin buffs haven't seen a photo of one, let alone hold one. The rifle is easily 99%, I see no apparent dents or dings. I see no rust, and appears unfired. The FFL Dealer I purchased it from stated it was brand new and unfired, as well. I would rate the rifle's box as "good" condition at best, as the hinge portion is well used, and has tears, tape, etc. on the box. The original factory label is still attached, but the right hand portion is coming off. I will send as many photos as you would like, and give as thorough description as I possibly can. I have no problems discussing the rifle over the phone, if you wish. I really have no idea as to the value of this rare piece, as I have never seen one for sale, especially unfired & new in box. I am open to offers, both cash and trade, or combination. I am required to have a "Buy it now" price, so I will list the rifle at $1500 to fulfill forum requirements, but, again, I'm open to offers/trades or combination. I enjoy rifles and pistols, and gravitate towards "New in Box" or "Like New in Box". I have been looking for a "JM" Marlin .357, .41, Mountie, S&W Model 17, and enjoy other vintage Marlins, Winchesters, S&W's, Colts, Garands and M1 Carbines. I don't collect commemoratives. Your rifle may very well be unfired but the loading gate does appear to have the appearance that it was at least loaded at one time.

Still a cool looking unique marlin.

Please do not let the list price be a determining factor in making an offer. I have no idea what the value of this rifle is, and I originally listed it without a price. I was instructed to add a price, or delete the listing. I think the only way to determine an accurate price is for the new owner to determine what the real value of this unique rifle is to him, as an extremely rare addition to add to/complete a collection. The number I listed is completely arbitrary to me. Thank you!

Your listed price definitely scared me off. You bought the rifle at a pawn shop correct? If so then you should have a general idea how much it's worth. Most pawn shops I know have multiple books to help them determine the value of a gun so I doubt what you paid for it is far off what somebody else might be willing to pay. I think you have to figure out how rare it really is and how much of a demand there is out there for it and then how much money you want to make off of selling it to members of MO. If you really want to find out what it will bring list it on GunBroker with a reserve and see what happens!

No, I bought it at a gun show. The c30as was not/is not listed in any Marlin catalogs, Blue Books, etc. After reading the posts about this particular rifle in the "336" section, there is very little known about it. There are very, very few seen, and none in NIB condition. So it's kinda hard to put a price tag on something like that- that's why I'm asking for offers. If I put it on GB, then I have to take it off of this site, correct? I don't think it's possible to negotiate trades on GB, so that's why I'm listing here, a site made for folks who are Marlin experts who could appreciate a rifle like this. I have negotiated several trades on GB. If you look at some of the listings, you will see that some offer trades. I don't have a dog in this fight, but it still sounds like you are wanting this to be an auction.

I spend quite alot of time on GB and IMO a hidden reserve turns most people off. Man up and list the gun for the minimum price that you'll take for it and don't play any third grade guessing games. It seems that if a guns reserve is a little higher than anticipated it will not meet the reserve and get stale real fast. I've seen many guns listed with a hidden reserve or a high base price not get any action and not sell (or the sellers who list the gun with a reserve and then say what the guns reserve is in their description:shot. The seller then relists it at a $0 or very low starting price and people get auction frenzy and the gun ends up selling for more than the opening bid that never got any hits. I personally won't bid on any gun with a reserve.

With that being said this is a real odd ball and would be a really neat piece in a Marlin collection and I can obviously see the sellers pov. It is really nice to have a site like this to "test the waters" per se and see what the interest is at their starting price w/o any listing fees.

i just watched a 336CC sell for under 600.00 recently on Gun Broker. Similar rifle, just a little less camo. I am not a collector though and it is worth whatever anyone will pay. GLWS. That is the first one I have ever seen.
