I've been using the Elite models for over 6 years now and I have several Elite models. I favor the 2-7x32mm scopes but in reality they only weigh 1 oz less than the 3-9x40mm. However, they are 1" shorter thus, IMO, look better on a Marlin. There really isn't too much difference in the scopes so if you want to mount the 3-9x40mm, go for it. The Elites are very good scopes with the Raingaurd feature.

I have a 3-9X40 mounted on my 338, and on a Glenfield 30-30. All the rest of my lever guns have 2-7X32. I don't think the 3-9X40's are too much scope. I have 2 Bushnell Elite 3200's in 2-7X32 and they are 2 of my favorite scopes. I have one mounted on my 444SS and the other is mounted on my 336SC. I think the Bushnell Elite is a great scope.

Thanks for the replies. I bought one recently for 139.00 new as a close out. They didn't have a 2-7x32. I have read alot about the 3200 Elite from Halwig and others and thought it was a good deal to try one. Well when I got it home it seemed rather large, espiecally the belle. Looks like I'll need med rings. I wonder why these were on closeout?

I have to Say I really hate the way they look on a Lever! I do have to say I am torn from the peep scope thing, levers just look better handle better with a good peep sight, but I shoot much better with a scope but I limit it to a 4x for hunting in a traditional lever and 6x for all my bolt's and 99's as if I can't see it too well then it is too far!
But for paper punching that's another story.
For me a 6x is good to 400yds if the cal can do it on Game after that I am not that good of a shot ya I am a bit cocky but that is with a solid rest and a non moving animal, and no wind.
But BL do make a good scope at a price we can all buy, this is just my opinion but most hunters can get by with a 4x for hunting just fine but target shooting turn it up and let it rip just to see how good that gun shoots.
I have hit Beer cans at 300yrds with my marlin just playing around but would never try a deer at that range with a 30/30 but it does show how good the old girl shoots with the old bushnel p&C on it. Okay it took me a few times to hit it! ;D
B&L do make a good scope just as good as a leopold but that's my opinion.

That's the one we bought to go on Marla's new 336W. We both liked it, and it was a closeout at Academy for $129. While it may not be a Leupold, I would hate to have to live on the difference.

I bought 2 of them when they were on close out and mounted both on Remington bolt guns. The scope weights 13oz so it is no heavier than a lot of lower powered scopes and the over all lenght is actually shorter than a 4X scope I have mounted on a 336 in 35 Remington. I think it will work out just fine on your rifle.

It is also a great scope for a good price...

There were a lot of good deals on Bushnell Elite's of late. You will need medium rings to mount it.

Here is a pic of my 338 MX with the 3-9X40 & my 444SS with a 3-9X40 Nikon:

And here is a pic of my Glenfield with a 2-7X32. I don't think there is a huge difference.

I have since taken the Nikon off the 444SS and replaced it with a Bushnell Elite 3200 2-7X32

I have a Bushnell 3200 Elite 2x7 mounted on my 30-30. They are an excellent scope in my opinion and it sounds like you got a good buy on yours. Mount it and see if you like it. I think you will, Lonnie.

I use to use only Leupold 2X7 and 3X9 but after discovering the eye adjustment on the Bushnell 3200 that is what I now use for all new rifles. Its so easy to adjust for you eyes with or without glassed. Great scope and like the gentlemen said looks great on a leveraction rifle.

Thanks again for the pics and replies. In the pics Halwig posted the scopes look good. I have been playing around with older weaver scopes and they are smaller, but not by much. I will most likely put the 3200 on a 336a my wife got me for Christmas. Thanks again Scott
