Well this is my second or third barrel band to break on my 35 rem 335C. Worst part is the screw head is so thin that it breaks off since screw is bent. It just can't hold that force.

Anyone have a fix for this? I had to work on it for a while so the band has to be replaced too.

Get a new band with sling swivel. You will have to fit this to make the holes line up properly but the total fix will involve, enlarging the holes in the wood, bbl and mag tube. This will likely solve your problem but if you want to do away with it with some extra work.

Lay a bead of silicone between the mag tube and bbl, install the fore end before it dries, wipe off the excess. Your fore end is likely slipping forward during recoil and bending the screw on the bbl and mag tube. This should be evident if you inspect the notch in the bbl and mag tube closely.

I had a shooting coach, for this explanation let's call him Gunny. The forward hand is to stabilize/support the weapon, not hold it. That was a few years ago but it has stuck in my head, although I can still hear that mans voice in right ear. Stand and shoulder the weapon (clear) and focus on your left hand, forearm and bicep if right handed, any bets their tight. Being young, dumb and etc. yea-yea-yea. Well I found out the front sight quit moving around so much also and I found bunches of black. I have a few of these levers young and old and have never bent or broke. Just a thought to go along with above, Good Luck. Them skinny pins are getting tough to find.
