If your cars rotor has grooves cut in it; it stops fine, is it not a problem?
I'm the type of person that tries to stop a problem before it progresses. If the barrel is not a problem, then I won't worry about it. I know it didn't come from the factory this way.
You ran a bore scope in it when it was new?
You didn't answer the question, is it accurate like it is?
Im not trying to rile you up nor do i want some sort of back-and-forth between us. I just asked a question.

After looking at your pictures it looks like a combination of carbon and lead setting on top of that land. You can see the tooling marks under neath it. I would swab the barrel with hoppe's or ed's red and then use a bore brush about ten swipes followed by a tight - fitting patch on a jag. Check with your bore scope and see if it looks any better, repeat if needed. Reminton makes a product called 40X that works well at cleaning carbon and fouling.

All is good, you're right. I got some tough skin. No, I didn't scope it when I first bought it. I should've said "I wouldn't think the rifle would come from the factory this way” instead of saying what I did. It was supposedly "brand new in the box never fired" and I wanted to load up some rounds but I don't know if I was selling a rifle if I would allow somebody to load up some rounds while I'm standing there:oops:
I didn't get to cycle the rifle nor did I think about snap caps so I ended up with the rifle that jams. After I fix the jamming, I took it to the range and with the factory sites shot a 5-7 inch group at 50 yards, I can't really remember but it was something like that. Mounted 4.5 power scope, so I’m going to take it out tomorrow and try to pinpoint my shots and see how the group is. You're right, the chatter is probably nothing to worry about. OCD;)

First off welcome to the forum. I’ve read your other thread about this rifle and it seems the seller was less than honest and your luck has not been the best.
Many of us here have been in this situation and it sucks. I commend you for doing the research and making the best of an unpleasant experience.
This is a good group of guys and most of us have some knowledge we are willing to share.
I hope the scope tightens your groups up.
BTW- OCD is not always a bad thing. If you ever start redoing stocks or rebluing, it will serve you well.

With the amount of absolute crap barrels I have bought on new guns and had to send back to the manufacturer lately I will not buy a new gun without scoping the barrel first. I think bore scopes are great tools, just have to know what you're looking at.

Never borescope a rifle. The results will play with your mind until you have to sell the rifle because you can't get it out of your head.😖

as a polite analogy: did you ever look at the pics from a colonoscopy (your own)? Even though the gastro specialist diagnosed everything as "good to go", it all still looked pretty "crappy" to you! (BTDT) :)

I don't have a problem getting it out of my head as long as the rifle shoots good. I have a savage with a bore that looks like it was rifled with a rasp file. I just smile pull the trigger and hit my target.
