Went to the pusher's shop this afternoon to jaw-jack a little. Varmint had a unfired XS7 on consignment in 7mm08. Barrel stamped JM, 91xxxxxx ser #. While I was lookin he was sharpening his pencil, then he set the hook. Marlinitus and gun pusher, I'll never get ahead. ;D

Yeah, that happens. The Marlinitis causes severe weakness in resistance to say no to another Marlin. Oh you poor soul, you will have to live with that purchase (lucky you).

Do you get Marlinitis after purchasing one Marlin or after two? I've only got one, and don't have any sypmtoms...yet...
Don't really know when it started, bought my first one about 40 yrs ago. But the Marlins, and the symptoms, have been multiplying lately. It's a horrible affliction...........and I love it!! ;D

Oh, I've shot it all right, just haven't sighted it in yet. ;)
;D Honestly mine comes and goes. Somedays I want to sell all three of them (because I have too many freaking guns as it is), and then I go to a store, see a good price on one & whammo another gun! The best solution for my problem is nobody around me sells them anymore. Somedays when I get on this forum and hear that an extractor broke or something that makes me think these guns will fall apart in a few years I think real hard about dumping them. Then what really worries me is the fact that the quality is going down the toilet, so if Marlin goes bye bye where will we get replacement parts?

Yeah those gunpushers are to be blamed. Always fluanting their wares, constantly teasing, never giving you a chance to recover.

Don't blame it on the pusherman. I can honestly say that, for a couple of years, I have stayed away from the gun rack temptress and the snyde gun pimp. In the last year and a half, I have started loading and casting so I have a lot to keep me busy. In that time my number of Marlins has gone from 3 to 6. I want/need only two rifles.
A few months ago, a Marlin Heritage Edition model 25 has made it's way into my possesion. The rifle was bought by my older brother just a couple of weeks before he drowned at Georgetown Lake in Montana. That was in '92 and the rifle has on its emblem - 1992. Obviously I cant sell this rifle.
Then I find out that my childhood Marlin model 60 and 336 have found their way back to me. I had long thought these rifles were gone. Now, they are coming back. You ever see that movie called "Christine"? You ever think that we dont pick our Marlins, but our Marlins pick us? Just saying.

I think my 2nd 1894 FG picked me. Seen it on the lower level at Tulsa show, thunk about it and went on. Got plumb to the other end of the top level and heard a voice say "IDIOT!!". Knowed it was talkin to me so I went back and fetched it. Dang voices anyway. ;D
