Found a new copy yesterday 2 nd edition. Not even close to Brophy's book, but neat nonetheless. Any other Marlin books out there? moodyholler

There's the Murray book on the 336. I have found a number of errors in the West book and scarcely use it any more. He seems to have simply taken his information from catalogs. SW

Yes, I have a copy of West's book too, and before Brophy's book I was disappointed, but after Brophy, I was really disappointed! Still it's worth having, for what it is. If it's just Marlin levers you enjoy, then you've about got it all with Hogger's addition. If you also enjoy the Marlin Ballards, then John Dutcher's book, "Ballard, the Great American Single Shot Rifle" is a must have! It's as good as Brophy's, but with much better illustrations!

The Bill West book was about all there was out there before Brophy's book came along. Now, I think, it is more of a novelty. There is a lot of mis-information in there. It is worth having if your into Marlins, though.
Sometimes when I'm bored, I go through it to see how many errors I can find.
Simple things amuse simple minds, I guess.
