It has been several years since I have taken the time to load up and shoot only one revolver per range trip. This time I loaded up several different bullets and powders.
Uberti "Buckhorn" 44 Magnum frame 44-40 cylinder...7 1/2" barrel

CAUTION there is a lot of information so there could be some errors in the transfer of the data over to the forum and or youtube video description. USE INFO AT OWN RISK.

Trailboss loads are standard 6.4gr with a 200gr Big Lube bullet
Caseload of Reloder 7 and a 200gr Big Lube bullet
17gr of IMR4227 and my new 43-208A Heeled bullet
Caseload of Reloder 7 and the Lyman 42499 hollowpoint
Caseload of Reloder 7 and the Lyman 427098
Caseload of Reloder 7 and the 43-215C
8gr of Unique with the 43-208A at both 25 yards and 4 yards

Total 10 groups on 9 targets

10gr Unique (High Pressure Loads)

Lee Pistol Machine Rest
25 yards, 4 3/4" 10 shot group

John Taffin used a similar load in his Texas Longhorns Arms' 44 Special with a 44 Magnum and 44-40 cylinder. "Book of the 44" page 111/113. John uses 10gr of Unique and a 225gr pure lead copper cup hollow point. Claims 5 shots group 1 1/8" @ 25 yards.

A friend picked up a 73 repro. its an older one . with winchester brass no problems. but with rem brass the extractor does not always slip down on the rim and fails to extract. well I told him you could stone the extractor or just use winnie brass. have you ever seen this?

It does happen with thicker rims. I hate CBC brass!!! Starline is best!!!

thanks im gonna tell him to use starline he reloads 44.40.
