do 45-70 casings not require trimming like straight wall pistol brass or should this be done to provide consistent crimp?

the brass i am reloading now is on its 8th reload and i have trimmed them one time and it was on the 5th reload and i only trimmed them 2 thousands. i think it has to do with who makes the brass , how hot the load is, and how much you crimp it.

The more they are the same the more they shoot the same. Trim them all equal length even if it is shorter than the book length states.
