ive been trying to find a vortex cross fire 2-7x32 in a store to look through, but i cant seem to find anything on the shelve other that high powered scopes or pricey pieces of glass. neither of which i want.
Has anyone used one? what did you think? or if not how about suggesting a scope that has similar functions for around the same price as it will be going onto a 336 3030.

Vortex is a fine instrument, however, I have only observed through the upper end models of the brand, Razor HD and Viper lines. I simply don't know how clear or durable the crossfire line is.

Have you looked at a Redfield? I bought one from Optics Planet, a 3-9 x 40 for about $150 or so, manufactured by Leupold. Very pleased with the optic. It's not a $500 scope but performs extremely well and amazingly tough. I'll tell you how I know it's tough if you insist but it's a little embarrasing. I will say it killed two deer for me.
