another 1893 marlin !

Well its been a few days since i've posted any new pictures. Its pretty boring here raining ,but the snow is melting so heres another marlin

this one is a Marlin 1893 s/n 414865, 32-40 takedown, full octagon, full magazine, shotgun butt, hard rubber buttplate. It has a few extra holes in the receiver :-[

Is that a BlackPowder marked 1893, or was the receiver blued later?

Looks great Don! After they age it looks like it was always blued.

Vall,I just assumed it was a re-blue, but It looks like it could have been factory blued,but its not a black powder rifle, Do you suppose that you could special order a blued receiver instead of a cased one?? just wondering i know you could pretty much order what you want in a Winchester of about the same time frame. just wondering ! Don
