I got a call yesterday from the outfitter that I hunted in Alaska with last spring. In thier camp they have some large equipment that was left there by loggers. It was less expensive to leave it than it was to barge it out. They have a track hoe, road grader,Kenworth tractor and a lowboy,A one ton truck complete with a tool bed and winch, and a couple more trucks,....etc.Last year the track hoe had qiut running. My step dad and I figured out the problem and got it running.Informed them of the parts needed to make it work right.Well.....to make a long story a little shorter........he called to tell me that he needed someone to come to camp this spring and work on roads and equipment,do general repair and maintenance around the camp.In exchange he would provide a black bear hunt!Well DAMN! I would go back for nothing ......just to be there in that "paradise".The down side is that I already have a blackie. So during the course of conversation,I suggested that I come to camp and work for him a week this spring........and a week next spring........in exchange for a moose hunt. His exact words were......"I think we can do that......as long as you arent demanding a world class moose.......I dont have THAT many 70 inchers every year....and I need to keep those for paying clients."Well.............I dont need a 70 incher!!!!!!!!!! Any moose would be a trophy to me!So now I have "obligated" myself to return to Alaska for 2 weeks of intense labor in a place that is TRULY impressive and somewhat spiritually refreshing.....for a moose hunt.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! What a sacrifice!BUT.......I am not getting any younger......and I still have a promise to keep concerning my dads rifle and a Brownie......So I will pay the full fare for the Brownie when I go on the moose hunt.Because I doubt that I will ever be able to spend the $$$$$$$$$$$$$$ to go for a third trip. With all this "sacrifice"......I feel like the luckiest guy in the world right now!

Weeellll...even a blind hog finds the occasional acorn,ha! Congrats! I am happy for you, and an alaskan moose of any size is a deal to me. We have the Shiras varity here(Utah), they are huge to me! and the cows are just crazy when they have a calf, very aggressive. I like em!
