Noticed this old '48/'49 model 336ADL on Gunbroker tonight, #218152820 (marlin 336a 30-30 $375.00): looks like its been carried many miles in the last 60 odd years, if this old gun could talk I suspect it could recount some interesting stories.

Looks my '48, which does NOT have the original swivels and sling. (Dammit!). Those on the GB gun ARE original and are worth at least a hundred bucks alone...

(Edit) A thought on the reason for the GB gun to be offered as a 336a (sic): Barrel rollmark probably reads (as does mine)
336----A-----
Appears that early ADL's were made up before an ADL roll stamp was available.

Guess I did reasonably well with mine. Found it in a pawn shop near me, and paid a total of $282.50 for it. It had been d/t'd a long time ago, and I stuck the old Redfield 2-3/4X on it. (Rear sight is not original. Still looking for the correct one.)
