How about someone posting a good broadside pic of stock front sight on 1950 vintage 99eg. I got original rear and replaced flip up Lyman. Front sight must have been put on to go with the flip up. Bright side is I just got new single vision glasses and I can see back sight clear. Tough job with bifocals.

I have a 1952 Savage 99EG. I can post a close-up pic of the front sight if you think it would help.

Thanks 25/20, that's what I needed. Mine same gun only 1950. Mine looks like front off a 700Rem. Yours looks to be a Marbel Sherd bead. I may luck out and have correct one in my sight stash.

That sight looks like something Savage would use in house. 25/20s sight looks like a Marble. Some of the 340 Series sights look to be the same style as your rifle. Now I'm not sure what original sight should be. My rifle is 250 99eg 1950. Is it possible Savage was using Marble sights on some runs? For shooting it don't matter much but I would like to have original. Anyone else got some feed back?

Keith, from all pics so far and yours being similar to sights I know to be factory on other Savages, that has to be original. Same as Navajo's. The sight on 25/20s must have been replaced at some point. I think I can see logo on top of dovetail block on his. I actually like the Marble sights better but I'm a little snobbish on putting guns back to original. Filler screws is best I can do on D&T. Thanks for the sight pics, everyone.
