Low grade fever prompted purchase yesterday. Couldn't resist. Not common down here.

Nice looking Texan, texjam. Unfortunately, buying a Marlin won't help Marlinitis. Some will say it contributes to it. It tends to be a chronic ailment, but only affects the pocket book. ;D

Very nice rifle! :-* The fever is totally understood, called Marlinitis, we all have it in various stages of seriousness. Not fatal, but only goes into remission for a short while. Ya learn to deal with it. ;D DP

I don't know, even the flaws many have described of the Marlingtons haven't put a damper on my Marlinitis. I've got it real bad, and that's good. I even bought me one of them Marlington W's a few days ago and will have to get it to the range pretty soon to see what it can do.

Nice looking Texan. It looks like a 336TS. Is that what it is or is a 336T that has been cut down?

Nice looking rifle. I have a 1981 just like it. I like the 18.5" bbl, it is a good compromise between the (16.25 or 16.5? and the 20") they handle nice. Good luck with it.

Evidently, it is a 336T with 18.5" bbl acc. to "Texans" topic.

I have a 1982 Model 336 with the 18.5" bbl like that which has become one of my absolute favorites. Mine has been rebored to 38/55 By JES Reboring and I love it. I really like straight stocks and the 38/55 is enough different that people say,"what is that?" I think you will really enjoy the handling of that .short barreled "Texan."
