I got a replacement trigger guard from Marlin in the mail today. The original snapped in two.

The replacement does not included the trigger components, so I had to drift out the pins holding the trigger and spring, plus the small pin holding the safety assembly.

I made my first mistake on the safety. I was unaware that the safety pin held a spring beneath it, so when the pin was removed the spring went flying. I'll never find it.

The other problem I encountered was the reassembly of the trigger/spring combo. When I put those two pins back where I thought they belonged, the trigger has a very short travel and doesn't release the bolt. Obviously, I wasn't paying enough attention when I disassembled.

Can anyone coach me through that portion of the re-assembly?

Thanks for your attention.

PM ArrowDodger, a member here. He is a subject matter expert on the 795/60 triggers.

If you are in the market, you should ask him about converting your trigger to a KAT. Mine is a world of difference and his turn around and communications were excellent.
