My local store has one GG stainless in 45-70 made in New Haven and 3 -450 long guns. The GG is $659.00 + tax. I fought the urge since I have a 450 ported. I guess one more would'nt hurt ;D.

I'm telling ya you should go back and get it. Think of it as saving money. Yep, that's my story and why I bought a 450 after I already had a 45/70. It's just like the wife driving 7 miles to use a coupon for 50 cents off some hamburger buns. You can use the same bullets, primer and powder for both. I'm telling ya that is saving money. All ya need is some dies and a new rifle. ;D Look at all the money your saving getting another 458 caliber. If you pick up something else you will have to invest in bullets, primers , powders, dies and another rifle.
That seems kinda high to me. In my quest for my blue GG in 45-70, Dicks in Loveland Co. had a stainless JM marked GG for $559.00. Maybe the market has changed in the last few weeks and that's what they are going for now.

I'd get it. If it's truly a pure Marlin, they are going to go up in value and will be harder to get.

I think what Lil Bear said is one of the Big considerations now. Since it is now Remlin lol. And we all have read how well that is going lol. Plus the 450 is no longer made and again if it was it would be a Remlin lol.
I went to my local Gander Mountain, they had a 444, 450, and a 45-70 (that stayed on the shelf two days), and a 30-30. I checked the SNs all 07 guns, all stamped JM. Now the 450 is gone, think I need a 444 next.
