I am interested in trying some 45-70 loads using H322 powder. Anybody have any loads for this? I also am planning on using Hornady 350 grain interlock bullets.
Any feedback would be appreciated. Thanks

Follow Hodgdon's guidelines for the power level you desire.

H322 is an EXCELLENT powder for the .45/70

I used it with great results, but was using heavier bullets. Those Hornady 350's are good hunting bullets too BTW.

Thanks Guy.... I just found an interesting article on this subject and decided to post the link.
Marlin's "New" 45-70's

PS: I have some H322 on back order and a good supply of interlocks.

I now use H322 exclusively for the 45-70, Its in my opinion one of the best powders for the 45-70 and I get some of the best groups using it.
Hope you get your powder soon! I shoot 350gr Lead out of Starline brass with Winchester LRP, Starting load is 46gr H322 at 1600fps up to 54gr for 1800fps. Im sure you can go faster (Marshall at bear tooth goes up to 2000fps in his loads) but I find that the 54gr load kicks enough.

Using 45 or 46 grs. of H322 behind a Beartooth 350gr. gas check bullet shoots great and is about all the recoil I care for these days.
If my chrono. is not lying, I get an average of 1580 fps with 45 grs. and in the 1600 fps range with 46 grs.
