Best deal I have ever seen there: JM-stamped, ballard rifled 444 Marlin for $749. I think it's the SS model with 22 inch barrel. The bolt was dirty from being fired, but I did not see a single blemish on the wood or metal. Tag claims it comes with the box.

Only downside was the very plain, lighter-colored wood. But that's good for you--if it were nicer, it would now be in my safe!

Please post pics after you buy it!

To far to drive.
I have found a 336D a couple of years ago from a Cabelas in Utah and they shipped it to the Oklahoma City Cabelas for $25 which I had to pay with a CC. Then when it came to OKC Cabelas they knocked the $25 off the price of the rifle. The 336D was priced way cheaper that I could find anywhere else.

That's $200 less than the 444SS I saw at the Louisville gun show.
I'm starting to see the appeal of the ballard rifling
