I'm wondering if anyone else finds loading the tubular magazine with 44 magnum more difficult. My 1894 in 357 and my 336 in 30-30 load easily. The 44 takes more manipulation and alignment.

I'm wondering if it's the bullet styles I'm using (conical shaped HP are the most difficul, RN and RNHP are easier but still not as easy as 357 in any configuration I've tried.

Or perhaps I should try some different OAL. The COL on my reloads have been 1.590 to 1.600" depending on the bullet's cannelure location.

Any insights, techniques and theories would be welcome and appreciated.

I find that the loading (door) spring is way too strong and it's hard to load those rounds against that tube spring too. especally those last few.
I hope it gets looser (the door) with use.
