This is my tested 410 load for hunting birds up to grouse and for sporting clays. Also I use Lt-SKT up to Lt-Mod the latter for 40 yards shots. Super-X-HS hull, AA410HS wad, 209Win primer, 17.0 grs of 300MP, and 11/16 ounce of #8 hi antimony shot. This has worked unbelievably great for about 8 years now and say about 4,000 rounds spent. Tested at 1225 fps at 9,200 psi. I shoot the 410 and 28 gauge for Grouse, wood cock, quail, and sporting clays. I shoot my hunting guns for all clay games because they are what I hunt with. I shoot side by side with guys using 12 gauges with +32" barrels who shot 85-95 scores while I only in it for the fun run 75-88 for scores. My 26.5" small gauge O/U's do wow them and I get asked what chokes are you using. My reply SKT & IC. Kept with in the 410's range it is a real killer of small birds. Most shots are in thick cover from 15-30 yards but many, many birds get dropped at 40 yards effectively.
