I imagine they have a line for assembling each model to keep everything running smoothly but I'm not sure if/ when they swap out the birch or laminate for the walnut and blued steel.
My LGS said there were a couple guys that were asigned to getting the 39A`s going again, but they got pulled and the job sidelined. I wish they would get it going cause the people selling the old ones think they are worth gold or something. I refuse to pay $6-700 for a well used .22
A friend worked for Marlin . jm days for 17 years. I think he said it was buy demand of what was selling at the time. the 60 22s all the time. he did tell me he assembled 1895s for a long time.
