Here are a few pictures of my newly acquired 39A vintage 1962 after I cleaned it up a bit. I cleaned it with Murphy's oil soap first, and after a few days gave it a light coat of tung oil. It got a second coat after 24 hours. I didn't want to refinish it, just clean it up and protect it a bit. The white spacers had to be replaced also. The old ones disintegrated when I pulled the butt plates off. My photography skills do not due this old gun justice.
I made one out of a white kitchen garbage can lid a while back after reading a post on here. I just purchased one from Brownells for my 39 and install it this week.
