I have a as new 1969 Golden Mountie which has always had the front hood on. While giving it a wipe down I noticed the brass bead is missing from the front sight. Did Marbles furnish the front sights for these rifles? Is it possible to get a replacement brass bead for the front sight and just just it into the back of the sight. How where these things made, as they had some sort of post or pin on the bead that pushed into the hole on the back of the front sight.

Thanks

They are crimped in, and usually take some effort to remove. I've removed a few but always threw the bead away, wish I had not.

Should not be that hard to make one from some brass stock.

Yes there is a post on the bead where it fits into that hole.

I would consider buying the new sight.

Swany,

Was Marbles the vendor that supplied the front sight for Marlin at the time of manufacture?

Thanks
