Hi guys i just wonder on wether i can use a 10mm lead bullet in a 38-40 cal. rifle has anyone tried ... or know ? have a 1902 Marlin ... barrel doesn't say skokeless so it would have to be a reduced load ?

I have a 1904 in the same caliber. While I was waiting for a bullet mold I bought a box of Winchesters factory loads and they shot well in the gun . Also I almost bought a model 1889 in 38-40 a year or so ago and that person used factory loads in that gun also.

Lee #2 shows .400 bullet diameter for both the 10 mm and .38-40 so it's worth a try. .38-40 pressure date looks pretty mild even for the top loads so I would be willing to use starting loads even in a very old gun.
