Picked up some 356 WIN factory loads today cheap. Now I have 40 loaded rounds , 50 pieces new brass and dies. Get the gun and I'm ready to go :!:

I did the same thing about 2 months ago. Not really looking for a bargain, and was actually leaving the gun shop. Noticed five boxes of .356 for $20 each. Gott 'em! Have paid as much $32 a box, maybe more.

Have dies but don't reload, I'll get back into it someday as time permitts.

I've never bought factory loads for my .356. What bullet weight did Winchester use?

When I bought my .307 11 years ago, I got a heck of a deal (clearance, no one wanted the dang stuff) on 5 boxes of 150 gr FP's and 5 boxes of 180 gr FP's from a local store. I just looked at the stickers on the original boxes - I paid $10.95 a box for it. I shot up all the 150's for the brass. I still have all 5 of the 180's.

You got a good deal.

There's a shop here local that usually has a pretty good stock of 'em. The guy who runs the place knows that they're hard to come by, so he charges accrodingly. Like $32 a box.

When I want some and don't feel like dealing with that fella, I can usually find some at gunbroker for a bit less.

Winchester hasn't produced any in a while, and some of it's a couple years old, but it seems to kill hogs pretty dead anyway.
