I understand the rarity & collectibility of a rare caliber gun, but don't totally follow the high prices I've seen lately.

I have to wonder if these folks know that any 336 can be converted to .307 or .356 for approx $150

biglmbass,

There were 2414 origionally manufactured by the factory. The key word is "factory". Though it is simple enough to rechamber anything else is just an also-ran to a collector.

Did you see the bid history? Looks like at least one fellow upped his own bid more than once. I can think of only a couple reasons why...

Sidespin I know what you mean but when I first looked at this the minimum reserve had not been met. Doesn't meen they didn't jack it up but it may have been an attempt to get past the reserve.
