Came across a real nice 336 .35 Rem. Have serial # . Forgot how to date rifle using serial number. Can someone please remind me. Thanks in advance. I believe the gun was made in the 70's . Smooth walnut stock, no checkering.

For a 1970s era of manufacture, you should be subtracting the first two (2) digits of your serial number form 2000!

If it's a 336A from 1973 buy it. There were less than 1500 made.
