I was just looking over my collection of 336's and it was quickly determined that my favorites are the ones with a 24" barrel, forend cap, and 2/3 magazine. To me, the barrel band configurations have less appeal based only on appearance. Both styles have given me excellent accuracy and both styles have given less than stellar accuracy regardless of barrel length with rifles spanning six decades, so I consider the difference to be a wash when it comes to accuracy.

I would like to know the favorite preference by other MO members. Please elaborate on your favorite barrel lengths, mag tube lengths, barrel bands or forend caps, and what you would order if any configuration was possible.

I think this photo pretty much sums it up.

The SC is my second favorite--just behind the A.

A 336 Texan Waffle Top (If they ever made one. Haven't had a chance to research it or prove it yet).
