That early one may have a slower twist (.44 mag twist) than the new ones.

$$$$ gun shows money maker wrong roll stamp.
If the roll stamp is spaced properly - like the image posted by Supercrew - then it is one of the very early 444's (if the serial prefix is correct). They were initially stamped "336-444 Magnum".

If, however, the spacing is wrong, then it's an 'over'-stamped .44 Magnum ... which was (hopefully) reamed out to .444 Marlin.
