Hey all. Thought I saw a posting somewhere about someone looking for a 336 in 35cal. At a local gun shop today, say one. Very nice!. Wood smooth and clean, blueing in excellent shape, action smooth. Serial number was 261XXX. They were asking $280. Haven't been shopping for a 35 myself. so no idea if the price is reasonable or not. If anyone is interested, Clark Brothers, Warrenton, VA 540-439-8988.

Sounds like a pre-crossbolt safety. I paid about that for mine - it's a late 50's manufacture date.

If I felt the need for another one, I would be tempted. But I would also try to find an older one than I have.

REALLY? They told you they sold it? I was there at 2-3 PM. Guess that means it was worth while!

I called them again, they do not have a 336C, they do have a 336 (no nomenclature) .35 for $279. I asked about it and the fellow said he couldn't sell it to me. Could not sell to a non-resident of Virginia unless a resident of an adjoining state. He did say it was in really good shape.

Apparently they did sell the "C".
