Folks,

Could anyone point out any real difference in range and accuracy between the two mxlr's (308 and 30-30). I was actually thinking if a 30-30 might be a better caliber choice for me. I own the 308mxlr already and really enjoy it.

Looking for any real thoughts.

Re: 308mxlr v. 30-30 xlr

The difference will be like going from a 454 Chev to a 283! in my opinion the MX series is the Big block of Levers! Dennis

I'd stick with the 308. I wrestled a long time between the two myself before settling on the 308 and I know I made the right choice.

used my 30-30 for several years and went to lever evo ammo for the accuracy and extra range (steroids)
bought the mx for that just in case long shot (supercharged) ;D

If i already owned a 30-30, i'd live with the difference. If not, and you really need to shoot deer at 300 yards, go with the .308.
