Chek out the 150 grain offerings. They tend to open up better than the slower 170 grain loads.
Better for chest shooting.

In my case shooting the Federal® Power-Shok® 170gr RNJSP I can place three shots into ¾" at 100yds all day long from the bench.

I wish you good luck with your forthcoming experiments. Be sure to let us know what 170gr load you finally settle on.

I'm not to particular, I buy what is available at the time and most importantly, what is cheap or on clearance. On a side note, I do reload for the 30 30 both 150 and 170 grain bullets. But I can't pass up cheap factory ammo when it becomes available. And that includes all calibers that I reload for.
