About 19-21.00 for a box of green box in 170 grains seems pretty standard here. 30-30 of some type seems always around. My 30-30 prefers the 170 grain Nosler and strangely enough 125 HP. 150 grains I have tried shoot pie plate. Nosler 170 grains fist to hand size for me shooting with Wiliams peep.

30/30 --- My house.
My bullets/powder/primers
$5 a box.. maybe a bit less.

If you shoot much, rolling your own pays nice dividends.
Where do you get your bullets; I just built my last 100 with Hornady fp 150 gr, and Im having trouble finding anything else. Right now Im about 9.50 a box that way.

Oh, and as for the OP, availability is up, and price is about $16/box and up. A few years ago I was paying about $12/box for 170ish Winchesters.

The local Walmarts are ordering Winchester Super X in 30-30. Anytime I've been to either Wally World in my area, they don't have any in stock. I am not a big fan of Winchester 30-30 ammo anyway. I prefer Federal BLue Box. I haven't seen any of that in Wally World in months and now that its fall, I probably won't be seeing any until after hunting season. I have enough stock for now.

Walmarts here often have a box or two of Remington or Super X, usually for around $16 or $17 a box.

The local Walmarts price Super X at $16 and change and Remington at $17 and change. That sends me to a LGS that carries Federal ammunition.

Last month, MidwayUSA had Federal Power Shok (Blue Box) 150 and 170 grain ammo on sale for $14.29 a box. shipping averaged about $1.25 a box via UPS. That's the lowest price I've seen since Sandy Hook. The LGS charge $20 box. Yikes ! So I bought 10 boxes from Midway.

the average I am seeing in central Texas over the last two weeks is about 15-16.00 dollars a box

years ago, I wouldn't reload .30-30 because it was almost cheaper to buy factory ammo on sale (glad I saved all my brass), these days, I reload it
