I just received my new 284 win barrel from DangerousDan, SS magnum taper 9.25 twist. I can't wait to get it mounted up and dialed in!
Thanks Dan!

Let me know if you work up any good loads with 140/145 grn bullets. Have a Savage 99 in 284 and working on a load.

Savage 99 was my intro to 284, GREAT whitetail rig! Mine with a 12 twist barrel likes 140g Nosler ballistic tips pushed by 45.3g of Re-15, or 51g of Re-17. I also have a Ruger 77 in 284 (also a 12 twist), and now I'm setting this XS-7 up with Dangerous Dan's stainless barrel with a 9.25 twist, which should work well with 155g bullets, maybe even 165g.

I have zero experience with RL powders... Bought my first RL-22 to work with my 6.5x55. May have to drop back to RL-19 for the lighter bullet (120 gr) I hunt with.

Right now in the 284 I am working with Sierra 140 and Speer 145, and IMR 4350, IMR 4064 (don't expect anything from this...) and Varget. I love the 99. Mine is real beat up. In it's former life it was a truck gun in West Texas, and shows it. Cracked/repaired stock, etc. But one day I plan to restock and restore it. No collector value in the shape it's in, so no loss.
