Today being March 4th it means that there are only 27 days until the opening of trout season hee in Maine. This should bring much joy to my winter weary old bones; however, when I awoke this morning the temperature was -6 degrees and there is two feet of snow in the woods here in southern Maine. On a short ride this morning I noticed that one of my local trout streams is still invisable under the snow. It certainly seems like a long cold winter to me. ???

Hi MaineHunter, The temperature should start to get closer to 32 degrees and have the snow melt. The streams will take some time to warm up. By the beginning of April the streams should be flowing, but I hope not flooding due to all the snow melting. Marla
