Got my eye on a BO serial # 1895 that has had the stock cut and a pad installed. I know that is better for a shooter but I prefer the appearance of the original semi crescent butt. Does anyone here know where I might get a original or original style buttstock?

the top is my 45-70 bo # 1920 and the bottom is a .44 mag sporter made in 1973. the butt stocks look alike and may give you an other option for a butt stock. good luck.

Thanks,I'll check that out. Didn't know some of the 1894's had a buttplate like that.

Yep, Looking like a original stock or even a correct reproduction for that rifle is going to be like some old British motorcycle parts made of unobtainium.
