I'm interested in a 336 made in 1961, I know that the white spacer shrink with age but the buttplate is also a little smaller than the stock, does the buttplates shrink too? Also, I really don't like gold trigger (on any guns), original blued triggers are hard to find? I will keep the original gold trigger off course.

I don't recall seeing a butt plate shrink. It's possible the original was broken and was replaced with a used one that didn't quite fit.
Fine a new replacement butt pad and spacer and fit them to your stock. A little blue painters tape on the stock and some sanding and you're all set.
Good luck.
