My brother-in-law (lucky stiff) just acquired a Marlin 336SC in 35 Remington this past week as a free hand-me-down. We've been able to determine that it was made in 1960 (T prefix on serial number). Using the NRA rating system, I'd rate it as NRA excellent.

For insurance purposes, how much is it worth? Thanks for your replies. :)

I would put $425. (US) on it, from the information you have provided, for insurance purposes. A written appraisal would be in order and should be in your files as well as your insurers files.

This way you have settled the claim before it happens.
