Howdy,

I have a Williams #1274 side mounted peep on my 1895SS but one of the screws is too short to bite the threads in the receiver. Does anyone know the thread pitch I need to get in order to get a longer screw to mount up the peep? The peep was on the rifle when I bought it but I took it off while I was doing a full break down cleaning. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

chunderbox, IIRC the screw is a 6-48 but not sure on length maybe 1/4''. The screw may have to be ordered from Williams, Brownells or Numrich Arms. You are not likely to find 6-48 at Ace or any local hardware store, that is why they are called a gunsight screw. Take care, John.
