Hello! I just joined this forum and I am looking for info on the 1895 SBL. I saw one several months ago at my local shop, when I went back to get it it was gone! I have been looking for months and can not find one. I called Marlin and they told me that they ran production on them in February and that they should be shipping soon. Does anyone know if this is true? I want one bad. I would also like to hear from any owners of this model on their experience with this model or if they would reccomend a different model in the 1895 guide gun?

Man have you come to the right place. I highly recommend that you spend a lot of time searching and reading the experiences of members specifically with the SBL and with Marlins in general in the 45/70 forum as well as the Marlin Rant forum. There is a lot of valuable information there and I guarantee that it will be time well spent.

BTW, welcome aboard and remember the only dumb question is the question you don't ask.
Welcome aboard! The production of Marlins was recently moved from North Haven, CT to Ilion, NY. There have been significant issues with new production Marlins, especially the SBL. I'd recommend waiting a bit to see how this all shakes out. Check out the Marlin Rant threads for detailed issues to some of our owner's guns. Keep in mind that they haven't all been problematic but it sure seems that more than what should be are. Caveat Emptor if you buy one sight unseen (not recommended).
Welcome! I'm a newbie too, and these folks have been an incredible wealth of info for me, you're gonna love it here.
Hi and welcome from Bundaberg, Australia.
Welcome to the forum! There are actually 3 for sale on gunbroker right now. It's best to have it in your hands before you buy it so if you do buy it online ask the seller what their return policy is. Still waiting for my replacement from the factory from all the issues I had.
