Going to look at a marlin 1894m tomorrow. All the ones I've seen have non-checkered stocks. This one has a checkered stock and forend.
Was wondering if it was factory or if someone changed out the factory wood for the checkered wood. The gun is in excellent condition.

The ones I have seen have also been smooth stocked but anything is possible. If the price was right I wouldn't let checkered stocks stop me from buying one.

Well I didn't get the Marlin 1894m. It went for $950.00, and I already have one at home, so I guess I didn't need it that bad.
