Go look at a Western Field 740A! Just found one today at the gun shop. Coming home with me tomo! And it has exactly what I see in the pix - a forearm end cap with integral sling swivel. Don't know if you could get it as a part or not...
Most all models with an end cap were available with sling stud including stainless. The 1895 came standard with studded end cap. The deluxe in all calibers had studded end cap. A studded end cap should be easy to find or make.
Easy to make but defintely not easy to buy. At least not for the octagon barrel. I looked all over when I purchased the rifle last year. I want to carry it in the woods again with bear being out now, so was thinking about it again.
It's also VERY easy to get a round barrel end cap to fit an octagon barrel. Very little filing is necessary. Check out the article I wrote on my web site about rebarreling a round Marlin to Octagonal.
