When I purchased my 1894 it has ashley sights installed. I did get the original sights front and rear but not the two plug screws for the top of the receiver.

The plug screws are about 3.50 bucks each from Mar/Rem or brownells or Numrich. Midway has 8x40 plug screws for less than 1.00 dollar each. Has anyone ever used them on their Marlin and do they look the same as the factory installed screws? Or would I be better off ordering from Marlin/Rem. Problem is most places want as much for shipping as the small parts.

Thanks

The plug screws dont come with the gun since when you buy it theres a sight there. Theyre smaller I think than the scope screws too, or maybe bigger but different anyway. I bought plug screws from Brownells in a bulk pack of 10 or 12 if I remember for scope holes, I'm sure they have them for the sight holes too. They had them in 2 flavors, one was just a threaded shank with a scre slot on top & one had a very small head. I got the one with the very small head & it worked nicely on the flat reciever, for the barrel the others likely look better.

Just so I'm clear here, are we talking about the top receiver plug screws where the scope mount or peep sights would go?

If so, I have a couple to send out. :)

I'm talking about the top ones Erik but I imagine they have the smaller ones for the side too.
