I recall reading somewhere that the magazine spring could be shortened slightly to allow loading 10 rounds instead of 9 in the 1894C. But now I can't find it. Does anyone have the information on how much to cut the spring, etc.?
Get a 3/8ths bolt measure a loaded round, notch the bolt slightly above that length and compress the spring over the bolt until you reach the notch mark that coil with an indelible marker decompress and cut it off. Little harder method is to load as many as possible in the magazine and then take away what would be necessary to insert the last round that won't go in mark your bolt at that length and cut it off.
