My .45 colt cowboy stopped lifting the rounds after I felt some resisitance on closing. Further inspection revealed a small mangled spring in the action. This spring was apparently loose from the lifter. My question is if you guys know if I can repair the spring and retainer or just install a new carrier/lifter assembly. All help is appreciated. ???

Unfortunately I cant really answer you. I'v never had a Marlin without a rocker, the spring loaded button replaces the old rocker. Fortunately a lifter assembly is easy to swap in though.

I have heard you can use the spring from a ballpoint pen and a small E-clip to repair a carrier that does what yours did. The factory washer that holds the spring in has fallen out.
